FHP: $8,199

Supplemental funding: $6,000 from Lolo N.F. for contract development and cone surveys (NFVW)  These are appropriated Forest Service dollars.

Cone Collection 8/30/2007.  Don’t have caging date, typically early to mid July.

Objectives

Collect WBP seeds to facilitate outplanting of Blister Rust Resistant seedlings.

Acres/ha treated

4 seeds zones: Selkirk/Cabinets, Missions/Glacier National Park, Central Montana & Clark Fork/Lolo Pass.

Methods

Cone surveys will be performed in June with caging to start soon after. Seed zones will be prioritized for collection by status of areas with available planting sites (current priority: Selkirk/Cabinets, then Missions/Glacier National Park, then Clark Fork/Lolo Pass and then Central Montana).

Collected 33 pounds of seed for future outplanting.

No monitoring associated with cone collection.

Yes, Collected WBP seed facilitates outplanting of Blister Rust Resistant seedlings for any cooperator within the seed zone(s) collected.

Future actions/follow up?

Annually check for collectable cone crop.
