Collect seed for restoration projects, blister rust testing, and gene conservation.

Methods

Cone surveys will be used to determine presence and abundance of cone crop, and then trees will be climbed by certified climbers to cage cones and harvest when ripe.

Outcome

FHP WBP restoration funds in combination with other funds received paid for the collection of seed from 169 trees from 21 different locations throughout Oregon and Washington in 2010.
